Show Window Exhibition #10:

3rd of August 2021 - 10th of September 2021
Monday through Friday, 10 AM - 5 PM

Emser Str. 124 on the corner of Ilsestr.

The SIMULACRUM exhibition cycle continues with images in our show windows looking out onto the street. As the WerkStadt is not yet able to do exhibitions inside the project space that are open to the public due to COVID-19, fittingly the artworks will look out into the surrounding neighborhood.

"My research moves between drawing, painting and installation and my artworks are a reflection on the boundaries between painting and drawing, past and present, self and other. Starting from references linked to art history, literature and contemporary culture, I carry on a visual research made of collisions of meanings and media. My works show an overlapping and stratification of different elements; sometimes the figures are invaded and challenged by the spray that “claims” its own space, its own presence, in other cases the image appears taped, as a reference for a new work, in other works the painting looks like an exercise book, with notes, scribbles and drawings.

There is always a contradictory tension, a juxtaposition of what is different, divided, separate. The installations bring with them a sense of waiting, a sense of suspension, where the objects, the elements, testify a memory of something that happened. With a meta-painting approach, I focus on the aesthetics of opposites, of the different, trying to create a language where such dual elements can look at each other and merge. In my artworks the classical compositions, and colors match with contemporary media creating a new visual language."
